One of the cards I shared Monday used the full-sized background die. It makes an amazing frame of pine boughs overlapping the interior of the frame. This is the die I'm referring to. Once you die cut the frame, you end up with a funny looking reverse image, or the inside piece from the frame. You can take that inside piece and use it to make a fabulous background. First, you'll want to center it over your card stock that you're going to … [Read more...] about Making Your Own Background

New At SU-Winter Owl
Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing gift card and gift certificate holders. I used the Winter Owl stamp set for my card today. For my gift card holder, I made a z-fold card. With a z-fold, the front panel is folded in half so when standing the card looks like a backwards Z. I've seen … [Read more...] about New At SU-Winter Owl
New At SU-Sweet Gingerbread
Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing gift card holders to prepare you for the upcoming Holiday Season. My gift card holder is designed to look like a mini book. Blackberry Beauty
Several weeks ago, I found an idea online for a project that looks like a mini hardcover book and inside was a box. I loved the idea of a mini book that was also a gift or treat holder. I can't find the name of the person who first posted it because it was so long ago, but I still wanted to share the project. This is the front cover of the book. I love the owl from the ephemera pack. I don't know why, but it reminds me of Harry Potter. … [Read more...] about Blackberry Beauty
Peekaboo!
Continuing with sharing projects from our recent Demonstrator meeting... today I'm featuring a project designed by Lyndi. I love these cute little critters from the Peekaboo Farm stamp set. This set features five different animals that peek out from behind this wall. Or you could have them peeking out from behind some other object as well. Lyndi's project is actually a small gift box, using one of our Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes. These boxes are … [Read more...] about Peekaboo!
You waited til the last minute…
And you bought all gift cards instead of presents. So now you're wondering how to make them look fabulous instead of giving them away in a cheesy plain envelope. I've got just the solution. Grab a stack of our Gold Mini Pizza boxes and get wrapping. These gold boxes are so pretty and they really don't need a lot of decoration. I like to wrap mine with a band of pattern paper. Then all of my decorations get attached to the pattern paper and not … [Read more...] about You waited til the last minute…
All Is Quiet on the Snow Front
Winter is coming... I know other parts of the Country are already buried under lots of snow, but here in SoCal, that means the temperature drops below 65' and we'll get a few days of rain. It's expensive to live in Southern California, but that comes with the promise that the only snow we'll see is on the tv. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy a beautiful snowy winter scene and I couldn't resist the stamp set Snow Front. Snow Front is … [Read more...] about All Is Quiet on the Snow Front
Downline Gifts
For each OnStage event, I like to make a little gift for the ladies in my downline group that are attending. They get a little box with some goodies in it that will add a little something to their day. I like to use our mini pizza boxes because they are fairly sturdy and travel well. They are also just the right size for a few small goodies. This time the box included a lip balm, a package of cashews, chocolates, and some page … [Read more...] about Downline Gifts
