In Southern California, we don't get much in the way of snowy Christmases. It is 94' on Sunday as I write this and we are almost to the end of October. Don't worry though... tomorrow it's going to be 101'. Yay. I found these adorable jars at a local store and they had a hardware kit to add a post to the top of the jar so you could add a picture or card. Our Memories & More Christmas set was the perfect size to top these jars. We … [Read more...] about A Little Jar of Christmas

Bonjour!
This past Saturday, the kids and I returned from a quick trip to Paris. Yes, Paris France. For years I've been wanting to take them to Europe and it never quite worked out between the timing and the cost. And I honestly thought we weren't even going to have time to take a vacation at all this Summer between all of their activities. But we realized roughly three weeks ago that Soccer camp was ending about a week earlier than I originally … [Read more...] about Bonjour!
Ahoy, Matey!
Avast ye, keep a weathered eye out! Batten down the hatches! Beware the Jolly Roger, thar be pirates on the horizon... Wait a moment... it's just a miniature pirate. And it's trapped inside a bottle. I think we are safe after all. Today's project is a mixed media 3x3" canvas. You can find canvases at your local craft store. I'm partial to the 3x3" size. There's just something about a miniature canvas. There's no pressure to … [Read more...] about Ahoy, Matey!
Welcome Home
As a crafter, I like to make most of my own home decor pieces. I regularly check out the dollar bins and local stores for things that I can alter. I love when I score a great bargain that I can turn into something special. Today's project is a fabulous "Home" sign that I made from a plain $3 chalkboard sign. This chalkboard sign started out completely blank and it had a plain black ribbon. I was fairly certain I could heat emboss the … [Read more...] about Welcome Home
Change is…

Two weeks ago I mentioned that we were having a major life change here at our house but I didn't really clue you in on what was happening. In the span of about 12 days, my husband accepted a promotion and moved to another State. We made the difficult decision for me to stay here with the kids for a multitude of reasons I … [Read more...] about Change is…

Is It Spring Yet?
I know we are still about a month away from Spring, but I'm ready to say good-bye to Winter. We've had more rain this year than I can remember in the last decade. One good thing to come from all the rain is the beautiful green hills everywhere. And my plants are getting plenty of watering without me having to do it. Even though it's technically not Spring yet, I'm getting the house ready. I found these mini grapevine garlands at the … [Read more...] about Is It Spring Yet?
Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer
Recently, I was at the local store and saw a distressed wooden reindeer plaque. I thought they were cute, but had no idea how to decorate it. Moving down the aisle, I came across a bucket of plastic lightbulbs. Then the wheels started turning... For this project, you'll need one reindeer plaque, a plastic pretend lightbulb, a short string of led lights, red paint, a power drill, and a hot glue gun. The led lights should have a battery pack … [Read more...] about Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer
