Totally Trees
We are inching towards the First Day of Fall, but it's still hot here. Southern California typically gets it's heat mid-August and it goes straight through til October 31st. Our Fall weather typically starts November 1st. Frankly, I would love a little cool weather right now. One of things that we don't get here in Southern California is those amazing Fall colors. We just don't get cold enough for the trees to turn those bright, bold colors. I … [Read more...] about Totally Trees
Coming Soon… Fall
The First Day of Fall is rapidly approaching and frankly, it can't come soon enough. I much prefer cooler temperatures to the sweaty 100' heat we had today. I pulled out my Fall Wreath today hoping I could convince Mother Nature to give us a little break on the heat. I have a lot of seasonal decor that I've made through the years and this Fall Wreath is one of my favorites. I actually made this last Fall, but I haven't had a chance to share … [Read more...] about Coming Soon… Fall
20,000,000 Pounds…
Nope, it's not the amount of weight people will gain during the Holiday Season. It's the amount of Halloween candy purchased every year by Americans. To give you a visual on what 20,000,000 pounds of candy looks like, an average size car weighs about 4,000 pounds. You would need 5,000 cars to equal the 20,000,000 pounds. That's a ton of cars. I don't usually make treat holders for my Halloween candy. We pass out too much candy to make that … [Read more...] about 20,000,000 Pounds…
All The Candy
Did you know that Americans spend $1.9 billion dollars on Halloween candy every year? That’s $1,900,000,000. On Candy. Oh. My. Goodness. That’s a lot of candy. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking where are you going to put all that candy before you eat it pass it out. Well, I have a couple ideas for candy storage. Today’s project is an adorable wood coffin that I’ve decorated. I found the plain coffin box at a local store in their … [Read more...] about All The Candy
Spooky, Spooky
There are two kinds of Halloween: cute Halloween and creepy Halloween. My family is partial to the creepy Halloween. We proudly display our "Bates Motel Vacancy" sign, we string up garlands made of bones, and we have several skeletons that take up residence on our porch every October. I've been working on some Halloween Decor pieces the last couple days and now they are ready for the unveiling. They appear to be quite simple, and they are, but … [Read more...] about Spooky, Spooky
Five Minute Friday – Cookie Cutter Christmas
School has been back in session almost two weeks and I'm quickly reminded of how crazy the Fall Season gets with all the homework and all the soccer. All. The. Soccer. Both kids play on the High School team and they both play on other teams as well (Club and AYSO). In addition, my husband and son are coaching a third team as well this year. If you ever need to locate me, it's guaranteed that I'll be on a soccer field somewhere in Southern … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – Cookie Cutter Christmas
Cell phones and Holly Berries
Have you ever received your cell phone bill and really looked at all the charges closely? Or do you just send them money and be thankful that you have the convenience of a mini computer in your hand everywhere you go? Usually, this is me. Except when the bill comes and it's quite a bit different from what it usually is. Our cell phone bill last month was about $85 higher than usual. I hate when this happens because I can't in good conscious … [Read more...] about Cell phones and Holly Berries
