Fall

I'm back with Soft Seedlings today. As I was getting out my supplies, I couldn't decide which colors to use, so I used both yellow and green. Making this card in the two different colors gives each one a totally different feel. The yellow card looks more like Fall colors to me. And the green would be more appropriate for Spring. Well, it sure doesn't feel like Fall weather here in SoCal, but it is officially Fall now. Today's card is inspired by one I saw that one of the Stampin Up employees had made. I used slightly different colors and changed the layout a little bit. For the leaves, I inked them in Crushed Curry, then I used a sponge to add a bit of Cajun Craze around the edges and then Mossy Meadow for the stems. I love the multicolor of the leaves. Two weeks ago, I attended Stampin Up's BackStage event for leaders. At the event, we had a "Sweets and Swaps" party. Swaps are cards that we make to trade with other Demonstrators. Stampin Up sells these beautiful embossing folders you can use to create a lovely background. But, you need a die cut machine if you're going to use them. I know it sounds crazy, but not every crafter has a die cut machine or wants to get a die cut machine. Well, it may not feel like Fall just yet (and it's not), but it's definitely time to start sharing some Fall projects. This is a slim line style card. It's a little hard to see, but the background card stock is stamped with leaves in the dark brown color. Then the flowers are stamped on the pattern paper. I have a few more projects to share using the Ringed With Nature bundle. I love how simple this card is and it turned out really lovely! One great thing about the mushroom stamp is that the stems and the caps are separate stamps. It makes is so much easier to stamp it in different colors.
