I have been telling myself this for the last couple days. Why, you might ask? Over the weekend I had a massive allergic reaction to something and still haven't figured out what it is. And let me tell you, having hives from head to toe is no fun. And the medications you take for it are no fun either. I keep telling myself that this will pass in a few days - hopefully. I also keep telling myself to be aware of where I'm scratching while … [Read more...] about Perk Up!
Prize Patrol!
Last Thursday night was our monthly Downline Meeting. I love getting together with this group and hearing about their successes and helping with any challenges they are currently having. This is my class room/meeting space. This space is pretty awesome. My husband and I redid our garage (YES, this is our garage) to make it into a classroom and workshop space. Between the wood flooring, cabinetry, and glitter paint on the walls, our garage is now … [Read more...] about Prize Patrol!
Five Minute Friday – Half Full
Finishing out Wine Week with... yep, you guessed it! More wine! This card can easily be made very quickly, even with all the watercoloring. The wine glasses and wine are watercolored using Soft Sky and Berry Burst. Berry Burst is a great color for red wine. If I end up with too light a shade, I can add in a little more color after letting it dry.Usually, I would stamp my image and then die cut around it to make sure it's even on both sides. … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – Half Full
Raise Your Glass
I didn't have a chance to clean up my studio from making Monday's card, so apparently it is "Wine Week" here. I figure if Discovery Channel can do a whole week about sharks, I can do a week of wine. :) Today's card uses the Half Full stamp set again. This stamp set is the perfect opportunity to practice my watercoloring technique. I started by stamping all my images in our Archival Black ink. Then using my Aqua Painter, I watercolored the … [Read more...] about Raise Your Glass
Half Full
I'm definitely a "glass is half full" kind of person. I'm always looking for the good in others and the positive in any situation. I prefer to have a positive outlook on life and be happy when good things happen. I strongly feel that if you look for the negative, that is exactly what you're going to find. And I like wine. So, it was no surprise that I purchased the Half Full stamp set. One of the sentiments in the set, "may your glass … [Read more...] about Half Full
Five Minute Friday – Happy Owloween
Today's post is going to be a quick one. I am actually at a Copic class this weekend learning all sorts of new things using Copic markers. I have been looking forward to this for months. I love learning new skills and techniques. Today's Five Minute Card uses the new Halloween Suite of products to make a quick card. One of the pattern paper sheets is a whole sheet of 3x3" squares of the spooky Halloween tree and moon. These sheets are … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – Happy Owloween
Which Witch?
Every Fall I try to make at least one Halloween home décor piece to add to my collection. And each year, I try to make something different. This year I made a small witch’s hat. Witch's hats are so easy to make. The witch's hat started as a plain chipboard cone from the local craft store. My cone is approximately 7" tall. I cut a piece of the Spooky Night paper to fit around the outside of the cone. I cut the paper on the diagonal so the corner … [Read more...] about Which Witch?
Spooky Treats
This past weekend I had a table at the Just Crop Retreats. I really look forward to seeing these ladies every month. If you're looking for a crafty weekend away with your friends or even by yourself, you should try one of Rachel's retreats. The ladies are always so welcoming and fun. I don't stay for the whole weekend because of my kids' crazy schedules, but I appreciate the time I get to spend with these crafters. One of my Make … [Read more...] about Spooky Treats
