We are officially three days into “summer vacation” and we are doing good so far. We’ve had three days of Soccer Camp, our first official driving lesson (somebody just got her permit!), and time spent with friends. So far, I have not heard a single “I’m bored” or “there’s nothing to do around here”. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can make it to Saturday without the “I’m bored” conversation and then I’ll call this week a win. I love to check … [Read more...] about Soar
Going Places
For our son's graduation last week, I wanted to create something a little different from the standard graduation card with a cap or the year. To me, Graduation is the start of the next big adventure that our kids will take, whether it's college, technical school, or something else. I knew the Best Route Suite of products would be perfect to express this. This card uses the brand new En Route stamp set, Best Route pattern … [Read more...] about Going Places
The Next Chapter…
As you're reading this, I'm probably at home recovering from being up very, very, very early this morning working my shift at Grad night last night. I'm completely exhausted but it was worth it. And it's all for this amazing kid... Thirteen years ago, I celebrated your pre-school graduation. You were so adorable in your little red graduation cap. Then I held your hand as I walked you to your brand new Kindergarten class. Going to “school” was … [Read more...] about The Next Chapter…
Graceful Glass
I love the way the sunlight hits a stained glass window. I find the warm glow to be uplifting. Years and years ago, my parents took me to a class where we learned how to make stained glass windows. Cutting the glass into small pieces and then trying to reassemble it into a picture was not easy. It gave me an appreciation for the level of skill it takes to make an intricate design in glass. If you’ve ever contemplated making your own … [Read more...] about Graceful Glass
May Paper Pumpkin Revisited
I've heard from some of you that the May Paper Pumpkin kit was a little tough because of too many "dad" cards. Even though this kit was designed with Father's Day in mind, it doesn't have to be just for the guys. You can give a card to one of your favorite nature-loving girlfriends or your friend that loves to camp. And with the variety of sentiments in the kit, you should have enough words to say what you want to say. Paper Pumpkin kits can … [Read more...] about May Paper Pumpkin Revisited
Five Minute Friday – May Paper Pumpkin
Happy Five Minute Friday! Today, I’m sharing May’s Paper Pumpkin kit, which arrived with plenty of time to make some Father’s Day cards. The cards in this kit are perfect for the special Dad in your life. We all know how much Dad loves the outdoors and camping and plaid. These cards will put him in the mood to hit the woods. Or the trail. Or the couch. You know that Dad likes to kick back on his couch and watch a game or two. These … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – May Paper Pumpkin
Birds On A Wire
One of my favorite parts of attending OnStage is getting to play with brand new products before they are even available for sale. One of our Make & Takes from April's OnStage was a card using the brand new Graceful Glass Suite. This is such a simple card to make. The Graceful Glass vellum is meant to be cut apart into panels like this and then colored. For this card, I used two brand new colors of our Blends: Pineapple Punch and Lovely … [Read more...] about Birds On A Wire
Dear Old Dad
You might have noticed that I had a special post yesterday. Sunday's post was the inaugural "What's new with SU" blog hop! We had Stampin Up Demonstrators from all around the world participating. I hope you enjoyed seeing all the great projects using brand new products. If you missed out on the Hop you can see my page here, which will lead you to the other pages in the Hop. Today I'm sharing one of my Make & Take projects from the … [Read more...] about Dear Old Dad
