Happy Birthday
I think one of the most common cards I make is a Birthday card. It can be a challenge to come up with new ideas every time. While making this card, I realized my go-to for birthday cards is to use flowers. I tend to use flowers before I reach for any cake or party stamps. I think it's because we have a huge variety of choices when it comes to flowers and they can be so pretty when stamped. This card uses the flowers from the stamp set … [Read more...] about Happy Birthday
Nothing Beats Homemade
Have you ever been in the card section of the local store and you've looked at a dozen cards, but you don't see just what you want? This one is too mushy. That one isn't mushy enough. And most are way too expensive. I am here to help you. I make cards. I make lots and lots of cards. And I can make custom cards for you. You decide colors and theme. You decide what you want it to say. And I do all the work. Here is a sample of a recent custom … [Read more...] about Nothing Beats Homemade
Lilypad Lake
As we wrap up the end of summer and kick off another school year, I dreaming of summer vacations and time away relaxing. Towards the end of Summer, I start to look forward to the usual school year routine. And then it hits full force with school supply shopping, a thousand permission slips that are due tomorrow, and back to regular soccer practices and games. As I sign my fourth permission slip for the evening, I'm quietly thinking how nice it … [Read more...] about Lilypad Lake
Daisy Delight
The saga of the broken washing machine has almost reached an end. A brand new machine will be delivered tomorrow and I have my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong. We have been without a working washing machine for over two weeks now and it hasn't been easy. I did cave in and managed to do two very small loads, but it's a huge process. The broken machine stops working at the rinse cycle and won't drain. So I have to take the clothes out of … [Read more...] about Daisy Delight
Petal Promenade
One of the amazing new packages of pattern paper in the Annual Catalog is Petal Promenade. This paper is loaded with tons of lovely floral images. You really don't need to add very much to the card to achieve a beautiful look. For this card, I stamped some flowers from the Abstract Impressions stamp set and then hand cut them out. These flowers are a little wonky when cut out, but I love the contrast between the abstract flowers and the … [Read more...] about Petal Promenade
Thinking of You
Quick post today after a long day and now I'm dealing with broken washer. I have no problem trying something on my own, so it's YouTube to the rescue. We'll see if the various YouTube videos can help me get the washer going again. And let me just state for the record, I have no idea what I'm doing. The one type of card that I never seem to have on hand when I need them is a sympathy card. No one likes having to send one and when you really … [Read more...] about Thinking of You
July Customer Thank You’s
One of my favorite pattern papers from the new catalog is the Delightfully Detailed laser cut paper. This pack has two different styles of sheets and one side is Whisper White and the other side is Very Vanilla. One is a 12x12 sheet of a beautiful floral pattern cut out. The second sheet has 6 different frames and a couple borders. This second sheet with the frames is perfect for cards. I cut all the frames apart. Then I cut a sheet of Whisper … [Read more...] about July Customer Thank You’s
