Today's card is my first Autumn card of the year. It uses a mix of new products from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. I bought the Painted Harvest stamp set because of the gorgeous flowers. I think it's kind of funny that the first time I used this set, I didn't even use the flowers. The "gather together and give thanks" sentiment gives me a warm feeling. Isn't that what this season is all about? Gathering together with family and friends. And being … [Read more...] about Gratitude
Peace On Earth
It’s another fabulous Friday around here. We’ve got a busy weekend planned with a soccer tournament and hubby is home for the weekend. Gotta tell you...this living apart is hard. Hopefully, it won't be much more than a year or two. Last night was our Monthly Downline meeting. I know I say this every time, but I love getting together with these ladies. We may have started as Uplines and Downlines, but we are so much more than that. I love … [Read more...] about Peace On Earth
Graceful Garden
I am so excited that Registration started this week for the next Stampin Up OnStage event in November. Of course I registered as soon as it opened at 8:00 am my time. I've heard that several locations have already sold out. Eeek! I love these events and look forward to them tremendously. It's been fun seeing which online friends have registered. Thinking about friendships reminds me of flowers. Friendships need tending and care and love and … [Read more...] about Graceful Garden
The Unicorn Of The Sea
Did you know that unicorns are real? I'm talking about the unicorns of the sea - Narwhals. They look like a giant whale with a unicorn horn. The male Narwhal has a tusk that grows right out of their mouth and can get to be up to 8' long. If you look up pictures of them online, they look amazing, like this unbelievable mythic creature of the sea. But they are real. I love that the Quirky Critters stamp sets is all about unique creatures … [Read more...] about The Unicorn Of The Sea
Five Minute Friday – Be a Friend
Hooray for Five Minute Friday, which means quick cards and a quick post today. I am still suffering from jet lag big time. I'm practically falling asleep at work about 2:00 pm and then I'm wide awake about 2:00 am. I've tried forcing myself to not take a nap when I get home for work, but I am having a tough time staying awake until 8:30 pm. Anyone have any tried and true cures for jet lag hangover? If so, send them my way! Before I get to … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – Be a Friend
Bonjour!
This past Saturday, the kids and I returned from a quick trip to Paris. Yes, Paris France. For years I've been wanting to take them to Europe and it never quite worked out between the timing and the cost. And I honestly thought we weren't even going to have time to take a vacation at all this Summer between all of their activities. But we realized roughly three weeks ago that Soccer camp was ending about a week earlier than I originally … [Read more...] about Bonjour!
Happy… Monday?
Yes, I realize those two words almost never go together. But today’s card really makes me happy. I really like the bold black background. And those giant watercolor flowers are amazing! I did run into a small space issue with this card because all the die cuts and the flower are all so large. I did trim off a petal or two from the stamped flower. You really can’t tell though. If you think you aren’t very good with watercoloring, then this … [Read more...] about Happy… Monday?
Five Minute Friday – July Paper Pumpkin
July’s Paper Pumpkin kit is called Positively Picturesque. And it is just that. The warm colors, the flowers, and mountains remind me so much of summer vacations. This month’s kit is unique in the fact that there were four different cards to make rather than all the cards being the same. I kind of like the variety. Sometimes I really don’t need eight Father’s Day cards that all look the same. Unless hubby doesn’t mind getting the same card … [Read more...] about Five Minute Friday – July Paper Pumpkin
