Now that Christmas is over, I’ll get busy sharing all the new things coming in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-abration Catalog. But before I start doing that… I have one last Holiday card to share with you.
Some stamp sets just turn out to be very easy to work with. It seems like every time you get it out, the ideas just flow. The Winter Woods stamp set turned out to be a fast favorite this year. I’ve used that tree on so many different projects. And it looks good in any size. The tree stamp itself is around 3″ tall, but for this card, I used only the top 2″.
To get the multi-colored background, I used one of our Uninked Spectrum stamp pads. These pads are really neat in that you can create your own mix of colors. These pads come with five separate uninked pad strips that you color yourself. For this particular pad, I used five shades of blue, from darkest to lightest: Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue, and Pool Party. To soften the lines between the colors when I stamp, I ink the stamp in a small circular motion. The Bokeh Background stamp makes a lovely night sky with the varying shades of blue.
To keep the card on the simpler side. I used the Marbled background stamp across the entire Navy card base. It’s a little hard to see here, but the Marbled stamp makes the paper look like a tapestry print. Such a pretty effect in real life. The tree and the deer are added using dimensionals. The whole effect makes a lovely winter scene with easy to replicate stamping for multiple cards.
Check back on Friday as I start sharing some goodies from the Occasions Catalog. These items will be available for sale starting January 3rd. And speaking of January 3rd, that is the start of Sale-abration. Sale-abration is a great time to get some FREE goodies with your purchases. I’ll have all the details for you on Friday.
For those of you that want to be prepared when your January kit arrives, we have some inside information on what to expect for January. Next month’s kit will make 24 adorable Valentine’s treat packages. Plan to order extra kits if you want to make these for your kids classroom Valentine’s Treats. The coordinating colors are: Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Petal Pink, and Pool Party. And, the January kit will coordinate with the Animal Expedition Suite on pages 26 and 27 of our Annual Catalog. I’m so excited to see what they came up with!
If you order your Animal Expedition Suite early January, you’ll have it in plenty of time for the Paper Pumpkin kit to arrive.
