After 18+ months, most my 24-7Inkspiration team of demonstrators got together for our very first in person event. All during Covid, we were meeting via Zoom calls and FB Lives. It was absolutely wonderful to see people in person again and be able to craft together. Patricia did an amazing job hosting all of us with a lovely lunch. At the event, we had what's called a shoebox swap. Everyone designs a card/project and brings the supplies for … [Read more...] about Floating Strips

What’s With All The Leftovers?
As a mom, I love leftovers. In fact, I look forward to leftover night because it means I don't have to cook! When the kids were younger, we'd have a leftover night once a week. I would get all the containers of leftovers we'd accumulated over the last couple days and it was first come, first served. Until I started doing this, I never saw kids so eager to pick out leftovers for dinner. Now that I have two teenagers, there are never any left … [Read more...] about What’s With All The Leftovers?
Failure Is Not An Option, Part 2
A few weeks ago I shared this post here where we tried to make our own texture paste at one of our Downline Meetings. Here's a quick look at that card again. Some were slightly better than others, but most of them were similar to this. I promised that I would revisit this technique and see if I could get better results. Lyndi and I got together to give it a try using the same exact stamp set that Sara Douglass used in her sample. We … [Read more...] about Failure Is Not An Option, Part 2
Failure is not an option
At OnStage in April, Sara Douglass (our CEO) demonstrated an awesome technique to make a mixed media medium. It dries hard and creates an amazing texture. It really gives an incredible 3D look, specially with the stamp set that she used. Here is the sample she that she made to show us. Seriously SO cute! I love the dimension of the frosting. She knew we'd all want to recreate this technique and gave us her recipe: corn starch, white glue, … [Read more...] about Failure is not an option
Work It Wednesday – Exacto Knife
I had to share this awesome idea I received from Lyndi at our last Demonstrator Meeting. This was the swap she made for our last get together. I thought this would be a perfect share for Work It Wednesday since it uses a specific tool: the exacto knife. Stampin Up no longer sells an exacto knife, but you can find them at craft stores or office supply stores. They come in lots of styles and shapes. Here is a picture of the card closed. Notice … [Read more...] about Work It Wednesday – Exacto Knife
My Very First Class in the Mail!
I have been a crafter for very long time. And I have thoroughly loved attending classes through the years. However, I’ve noticed the last couple of years, actually fitting into my schedule a craft or stamp class has become near impossible. I was under the mistaken impression that as the kids got older, that I’d have a little more “me” time. Hah! Any parent that has kids in middle school or high school quickly figures out that their social life … [Read more...] about My Very First Class in the Mail!
Misting
I really had a tough time with deciding how to present this card. Do I show you the finished card first, and then all the individual steps to make it? Or the pieces and then the grand finale being the finished card? I think I'll show you the "pieces" first, starting with misting. I LOVE being able to make my own mist in whatever color I like. I can make mists to match my Stampin Up carstocks, inks, ribbons, embellishments. And … [Read more...] about Misting
