Virtual Album Retreat-Part 2

August 1, 2025 by Diane Leave a Comment

Happy Friday! I’m back today with Part 2 of the Virtual Album Retreat.

I wanted to share my thoughts on the Retreat. As I mentioned, the Virtual Retreat took place over three days, with each “session” lasting around 8ish hours. That’s about 24 hours worth of crafting and instruction. You could check in for any portion as you had time and then watch the videos in replay later. The how-to videos are lengthy because they want you to have time to do the steps as they are doing them live.

I did find it a bit tricky to do my stamping and cutting and pay attention to the videos at the same time. I found it easier to do the prep in advance and then do the arranging and glueing while watching the video. The written instructions come with detailed steps on what stamps to use and what colors so you can have all those little pieces ready to go while watching the video. There is a lot of stamping involved in the pages and that takes time to do it neatly.

I spent much of last weekend working on this Kit so I can get it completed. So far, I’ve finished nine of the twelve months and I still have three more months to make. My pages are pretty close to what the finished Stampin Up pages look like. I did omit some of the stamping, like the year on some of the pages. And for several of the months, I made the pages from the written instructions rather than watching the videos.

This is the March page.

This is the April Page.

Would I recommend this class to others? Yes, if you love to scrapbook and stamp and have experience doing both already. I don’t know that I would recommend it to a beginning scrapbooker or stamper because of the amount of time it will take to complete this Kit.

I’m usually more of a quick scrapbooker using the pocket page format. I like to get my pages done and album finished swiftly. These pages with all the stamping and cutting took more time than I usually spend on pages. But, I do love the result of how it all looks cohesive with all the pages completed together.

I already incorporate some stamping in my scrapbooking. I might start adding more to my pages, but probably not to the extent of the work in these pages. There were some fun elements that they had that I will try again on my own.

Now… I just need to finish those last three months so I can get this project cleared off my desk.
