This past weekend I had a table at the Just Crop Retreats. I really look forward to seeing these ladies every month. If you’re looking for a crafty weekend away with your friends or even by yourself, you should try one of Rachel’s retreats. The ladies are always so welcoming and fun. I don’t stay for the whole weekend because of my kids’ crazy schedules, but I appreciate the time I get to spend with these crafters.
One of my Make & Takes that I offered was a Halloween treat using the brand new Treat Tubes from the Holiday Catalog. I kept the project simple so people could make it quickly. People love quick and easy projects that they can easily replicate at home. The tag is made with the Spooky Night paper and the Everyday Label punch. 
The cat from the Spooky Cat stamp set is stamped directly on the cat pattern paper and then punched out with the Cat punch. From what I’m hearing, this cat punch is already a hit for Halloween. Just a warning that popular products can sell out early. Be sure you don’t miss out and get yours now.
I used Black Rhinestones for the cat’s eyes. The tag is tied onto the Treat Tube using our Basic Black Twine. Then you fill the tube with your favorite small candy. This one has plain M&Ms in it. We found out that Peanut M&Ms just barely fit too but the Carmel M&Ms don’t fit at all.
These Treat Tubes would be great to pass out for Halloween parties. However, I would suggest using a strip of washi tape across the top of the tube to hold the cork and tag in place. The corks are not meant to seal the tubes so they are not a tight fit.
Have you started getting out your Halloween decorations? We haven’t yet. It’s a little tough to get in the mood for Halloween decorating when it’s 90′ outside. Yep, Summer has finally come to Southern California. Actually we’ve already had a couple weeks of 100’+ weather. We won’t get our Fall weather until October 31st. It never fails that it is hot right up til Halloween. And then when the kids go trick-or-treating, it’s suddenly chilly out.
