When a new Catalog comes out, I’m always looking for new packaging ideas. I’m not sure how I missed this one, considering it’s near the very front of the July-December Catalog. Possibly because it’s in with a Christmas Suite of products and I hadn’t really started looking at the Holiday stuff yet.
The pillbox die is a larger die and it does not fit in our Mini die cut machine. You’ll need a full size die cut machine for this one. The assembled pillbox is small, a little too small to hold a credit card size gift card. It’s a great fit for treats though. The pillbox itself is a single piece of card stick that’s folded together. I used a bit of adhesive on the sides to hold them together. The pattern paper band wrapped around the outside holds it closed.
That pattern paper, Peaceful Prints, is from the recent Sale-a-bration offering and is no longer available. I do have a pack of the paper and couldn’t resist using it.
I used my blending brush around the outside edges of the tag to add a hint of red color around the outside of the tag. It’s very subtle on the picture, but you can see it better in person. The acrylic peppermint shape is adhered using our fine-tip glue.
This pillowbox would be great for party favors or classroom treats too. I will definitely be making more of these.
