Do you ever feel like sometimes you keep making the same card over and over? You don’t even realize it until you look at the last couple cards all together. When that happens, I take a break and look through Pinterest for awhile. Usually I can find something there to spark a new idea.
Today’s card for instance is something a little different. Usually I would stamp these flowers and then color them in using either our watercolor pencils or our Blends alcohol markers. Both of these are great coloring options. But, I really wanted to use the Perennial Essence pattern paper on this card and I just could not make the paper work. I tried it as a background, but the patterns are so bold that they take over the entire card. I tried it as a smaller background piece, but it was just like another card I had made previously. Then I had the idea to stamp the flowers directly on the pattern paper. Oh my goodness! Just look at how pretty these turned out. And not only that, but every flower is completely different. So unique! The background for this card is the Perennial Essence Vellum, which I embossed with the Scripty embossing folder. And since I embossed the vellum, you can’t even see the adhesive through the vellum. To assemble this card, I used a lot of adhesive to glue the vellum to the card base. Most of the adhesive is right below where my label is, and there is a small amount at the bottom of the vellum piece to keep it tacked down. I assembled all the pieces on the blushing bride label and then I glued the entire label to the front of the card using our tear & tape. By assembling the label first and then gluing it down as one piece, this allowed me to center it on the front of the card with all the bits hanging off on both sides.
