Honestly, I wasn’t going to purchase the Poinsettia Place Suite. I was only going to get the Beaded Pearl embellishments. Then Stampin Up started their pattern paper sale on October 1st. And I decided I really kind of liked the pattern paper, specially on sale. So I added the paper to my cart. Then I realized that some of the dies in the stamp bundle actually cut out the poinsettias in the pattern paper. And… that was it. I ended up getting the Suite because everything went together so well.
I love making little treat holders and I’m always trying to come up with something new. This treat holder is one of our small acetate card boxes. These boxes are nice for a small gift or candy. They would also make a nice little party favor.
I wrapped the box in a strip of the In Good Taste pattern paper. Then a narrower strip of the Poinsettia Place paper. When I wrap boxes like this, I always make sure the seam is on the front side. The seam will be covered by whatever I’m attaching and it keeps the back side of the box looking neat.
The poinsettia flower is stamped and die cut. The two smaller flowers use a die that both embosses and die cuts at the same time. I sponged some red ink on the die before I cut out the flower and the ink transfers to the paper as it die cuts it. It left a nice subtle hint of the red color on the smaller flowers.
I haven’t had a chance to play with the Plush Poinsettia paper yet. This is the one with the white flocking on it. I can’t wait to see how that looks on a card. Stay tuned and I’ll share something with it very soon.
If you’re on the fence about this Suite, this is your friendly reminder that both packs of the pattern paper that I used today are part of the Pattern Paper Sale this month. Click on the Shop button and it will take you straight to my online store. Be sure to check out all the different packs of paper that are on sale right now.
