This month I am ahead of the game! It’s only the second week in July and I actually mailed my June Customer Thank You notes last week! I try to allow a few days for them to arrive before posting pictures of the cards here but I couldn’t wait any longer to share them.
June’s Thank You uses a mix of sets… Abstract Impressions, Pop of Petals, and All Things Thanks. That Pop of Petals stamp set is pretty amazing. I’ve used it a number of times lately and I’m still not ready to put it away.
I shared a few weeks ago how to use those giant flowers from Abstract Impressions to make your backgrounds. You can read about it here. Using your stamps to make backgrounds is a great idea when you can’t find just the right thing to use.
Super simple layering on this card, but those flowers sure do pop on the card. These flowers are so easy to make. Just stamp and punch out. I found a super easy way to always stamp my flowers the right orientation to fit easily in the punch. You can do this too and it will be so much easier every time you use this set.
Start by punching out a flower in a piece of card stock. Write “top” on the top part of the card stock so you’ll know which end is the top. Using the punched card stock, place it over the flower stamp. Keep rotating the stamp until the petals sit squarely in the punched card stock. The “top” side of flower is the same side that matches the “top” on the card stock. Then using a permanent marker, write “top” on the stamp itself. Next time you use the stamp, just make sure the “top” is going the right direction and you can easily stamp a dozen flowers in a row and then punch them out just as quickly. I made dozens of these flowers for these cards and it really didn’t take that much time since I knew I was stamping all of them in the same direction.
