It’s that time of the month again… July’s Customer Thank You cards were sent out last week. If you made a purchase online or at an event, you should have received your thank you card. If you purchased the Daisy Lane bundle from me last month, there was a little thank you gift inside your card. This is one of my favorite tasks every month – sharing a little love with my customers.
This month I used the You Always Deliver stamp set to make a UPS delivery person delivering orders to my customers. This guy is just the cutest. I love that the stamp set includes the pup too.
The card itself is relatively simple, but the coloring and hand cutting out took a bit of work. You’re probably wondering when I managed to find time to color a bunch of these little guys and the packages and the pups. I actually took them with me to Hawaii when I was on vacation. I knew I would have a fair amount of downtime between soccer games at the tournament and a five hour plane ride too. Just in case you’re wondering, you can take your Blends markers through airport security no problem. It is a marker and TSA allows markers on planes. Here are all the Blends alcohol markers that I used:
- Dog – Light Smokey Slate, Light Gray Granite
- Packages – Light Crumb Cake (top), Light and Dark Crumb Cake (middle), Light and Dark Soft Suede (bottom)
- UPS Man – Light and Dark Petal Pink (face), Light Gray Granite (hair, mustache), Light Basic Black (shoes), Light and Dark Smokey Slate (bag), Light and Dark Soft Suede (uniform), Bronze (stripe uniform pants).
If you want more subtle variation in your shading, you can achieve this with just one marker. Color in the section you are working on. Then go back over a smaller section. This adds a second layer of the color on top on the part that you colored a second time. You can see in the top package that I used only the Light Crumb Cake. I colored the entire box once and then a second time from the top to about half way down the box. You can see that the bottom edges of the box are a bit lighter.
Well, you’ve missed out on getting this card, but you still have time to get August’s Customer Thank You card. Just click the Order Online button on the right and it will take you right to my shop. All orders receive a thank you, regardless of the size of the order. If you need help placing your order, please contact me. I’m happy to help you with any questions you have.
