Yes, I do realize I’m a day late. But, I couldn’t show off my Father’s Day card before the recipient received it.
The Come Sail Away Suite is the perfect set for masculine cards. For today’s card, I used our brand new Watercolor paper. I do have to say that I love our brand new watercolor paper. The color goes on so nicely. If you haven’t tried watercoloring because you think it’s hard, it’s really not. I find that if I give the paper a light wash of water and then add my ink with an aqua painter, I don’t have any problems getting nice coverage. You can see that my navy wash on the bottom is not perfectly even. This is done intentionally to make it look like waves in the water. The sky is a very light wash of Balmy Blue.
I used a bit of the Come Sail Away pattern paper behind my watercolor scene. You can see just a bit of the North/South compass directions peeking out on the sides. This pack of pattern paper would also be great for travel pictures.
I kept this card relatively simple because Dads in general tend not to like a lot of fuss. I hope you were able to spend the day celebrating your own Dad or a special Dad in your life.
