Halloween is tomorrow! Have you already eaten all the candy you were going to pass out? You still have 24 hours to get to the store to stock up and once again promise yourself that you will not eat this bag of candy.
At our October Demonstrator Meeting, we worked on treats for our local Ronald McDonald House. We try to do this for all the big holidays. If we can’t squeeze it into our Demonstrator Meeting, we try to arrange another evening for most of us to get together to assemble them.
Poli is in charge of designing the treat holder and the rest of us buy the candy or help with donating supplies. I know Poli is always on the lookout for ideas that we can recreate inexpensively and mass produce. And I love that the treat holders are different every time.We can usually make and assemble about 35-40 of these in about two hours, depending on the level of complexity. Most of the paper or cardstock will be cut into the right sizes for die cutting, stamping or layering. Sometimes we will have to hand cut a stamped image or hand color the images, like we did for this treat holder. By splitting up the tasks and working assembly line style, we can usually make quite a few treat holders in a just a couple hours. We really enjoy doing this for our local Ronald McDonald House. It’s a small way that we can use our talents to serve the house and the guests staying there.
