Five Minute Friday

April 22, 2016 by Diane Leave a Comment

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you already know that I was selected to be one of the stampers that made projects for display at OnStage. I was truly honored to be selected. And humbled when I met the other artists and realized that a number of them are current and previous Artisan Award winners.

My assignment for the display projects was to make 20 items focusing on the five 2015-17 In Colors. We were to make one 3D, one scrapbook page, and two cards per color. This week’s Five Minute Friday is one of the 3D projects that I made for the display boards.

This message board went together super quick. I found this metal board in the Target Dollar Bin. It actually has a black chalk background underneath the Cucumber Crush Designer Series Paper. I cut the paper slightly larger than the black background and used my Tear N Tape adhesive to attach it to the metal board. I bought magnets at my local craft store and glued them to the back of the clips using my Fine Tip Glue Pen. Once the glue set, I tied the Cucumber Crush Thick Bakers Twine around the clip.

The cards are the blank Project Life Grid Cards. The “To Do” and “Order” was stamped using the Layered Letters Stamp Set. I wouldn’t normally stamp my “To Do” list, because I usually end up tossing them when the list is done. But it is pretty cute like this and it would be simple to stamp a bunch all at once.

The other two clips hold samples of brand new ribbons and washi tape that will be coming out in the new Catalog. I love the new washi tape! It is so cute and it perfectly matches one of the new DSP’s that is coming out.

The message board originally had a twine string across the top but I swapped it out for the White Organza ribbon. The White Organza ribbon is a continuing product and will be around for at least the next year.

It’s hard to believe that this is something that could be made in 5 minutes, but it really is. You will need some drying time for the magnets but cutting the paper and taping it down took no time at all!
