We’re now half way through March and Easter isn’t that far off. No, really. I figured there’s no time like the present, getting started on those Easter treats.
Today’s project is a matchbook treat holder. I couldn’t decide what color to use, so I made this in both the blue and the purple.
Usually, I make these like a traditional matchbook you see in a restaurant. This time, I made the small side on top. You can see what I mean here below.
I used my tear & tape to adhere the vellum and pattern paper to the base. The bunny circle is adhered using dimensionals. The dimensionals are only on the bottom half of the circle. This allows top flap to tuck behind the bunny circle.
I used my Blends alcohol markers to color in the bunny. I used my Dark Petal Pink to color the cheeks and the bottom of the feet. The nose is colored in Light Rococo Rose. The bunny is both Light and Dark Gray Granite.
You’ll notice that my matchbook holder doesn’t have any sides. I will use one or two glue dots to hold my candy in place. When you recreate this, keep in mind, you only need to hold it in place long enough to pass them out, not forever.
So I got a couple inquiries on how the house turned out after the plumbing leak and all the repairs. Hahaha! It’s not done yet. Huge progress this week though, flooring has arrived. We are still down one restroom though.
I’m getting used to working on my itty bitty table in the family room. But every time I need something, I have to figure out where it ended up. Good thing I asked for the Pod to store my studio because I’ve had to get in it two or three times a week.
We’ve now officially passed two months since the original leak and restoration is still on going. When my friends warned me that it was going to be months, they weren’t kidding. I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’ll finish up before we hit three months. Pray for us.
