Quite often I'll wish I had some generic "friend" cards for when I want to mail something to a friend. I could use just a plain envelope and notebook paper, but where's the fun in that? I want my friends to know how special they are to me. When I have time, I'll make four or five of these types of cards to have on hand. This card uses two of the Sale-abration stamp sets: Hello and What I Love. I've been remiss not sharing the Hello stamp set … [Read more...] about Hello! You Were Gone Too Soon…

Why do things the hard way?
My Mom used to tell me that if there was an easy way or a hard way to do something, I was more likely to pick the hard way. I'm not sure what that really says about me. Okay, maybe I do over-complicate things sometimes (my friends are probably laughing and nodding right about now). On Monday, I showed you how to do the fabulous Inlay Diecut Technique (you can read about that here). A friend of mine, Poli mentioned to me tonight that you could … [Read more...] about Why do things the hard way?
Quick and Easy!
Since Monday's post was longer, I'm keeping it simple today and I'm giving you TWO cards for the price of one. Bonus! I'm using the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Rose Garden Thinlet dies again today. I wanted to give you some more ideas for these two items because I know you're thinking you really don't need another flower set. But, I'm telling you - you need this one! This first card is very similar to one in the Occasions Catalog. I did change … [Read more...] about Quick and Easy!
Making Your Own Rose Garden
Growing up, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents’ house being amazed at everything growing in their garden. They had vegetables, fruits, flowers – everything. I can remember helping my grandmother pick whatever vegetables we were going to have for dinner that evening. To a small child, it felt like a jungle! My grandfather was a botanist and was blessed with the ability to grow anything. After my grandfather passed, my grandmother slowly did … [Read more...] about Making Your Own Rose Garden

Lately, I’ve noticed it’s easier to track someone down by texting them rather than calling them. Even though they may have their cell phone with them, they may not be in a place where they can actually take a phone call (bathroom anyone?). Aww, come on! You know you’ve taken your phone with you to the bathroom at least once this week. The second die in the Party Pop-Up Thinlet set reminds me of a text message! It totally looks like a … [Read more...] about HB2U
Another Birthday Already ?
On Monday, I showed you a couple ideas using the Party Pop-Up Thinlet dies just as they are intended. I made a couple different pop-up cards and then I thought, what else can I do with these dies? I can’t make pop-ups for everyone because then they start to look too similar. I really like the idea of using the big Happy Birthday as a giant cake on the front of the card. All you need to do is trim the six little “arms” and you’ve got a giant … [Read more...] about Another Birthday Already ?
Happy Birthday to You!
Next month, is a big month for birthdays in our family. We have three: my son’s, mine, and my mom’s. My son has a milestone birthday this year. He’s turning 16! Yeah, I can’t believe it either (how am I old enough to have a 16 year old kid!). Where does the time go? He wants a Lamborghini for his birthday. Hahahaha! We had a good laugh over that one. Since I’ve got so many birthdays coming up, I wanted to make sure I got a jump on getting my … [Read more...] about Happy Birthday to You!

I love rainy days, reading by the fire, and long walks on the beach (sounds like a personals ad, doesn’t it?). Actually, my husband would correct me on that last one. He knows I actually loath long walks (or even short walks) on the beach because of the whole sand thing and the fact that sand gets into everything (I still have sand in a pair of shoes from my last trip to Hawaii - five years ago!). I don’t mind a long walk on the sidewalk next to … [Read more...] about l – o – v – e
