Being the biggest loser is even better. For the last couple years, I’ve held a contest with my Downline to see who has the most retiring stamp sets that year. The top two with the most retiring stamp sets gets a free stamp set of their choice from the new catalog. It’s just my way of trying to make them feel better about “losing” so many stamp sets to retirement.
I certainly don’t make them get rid of those stamp sets. They are free to do whatever they like with them. I even keep a few of my retiring sets. But, those retired sets do tend to get less because I can no longer promote them since they no longer available for customers to purchase.
At our last Downline Meeting, I passed out the stamp sets to the two winners. Rather than gift wrapping the stamp sets, I added a Congratulations tag to the front. I’d received the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set at OnStage. Annette, one of the girls in my group, won the set but offered it to me since she didn’t think she’d ever use it. This flamingo is perfectly sized to make a gift tag. And I love that the stamp set includes the water that the flamingo stands in. The Congratulations is included in this stamp set as well. The Congratulations, lace, and sequin trim are adhered to the tag using the Mini Stapler we sold a few years ago. We no longer sell the Mini Stapler, but you could use a regular stapler instead.
Usually, we associate flamingos with summer, pool parties, or lawn ornaments. But in this lighter pink, it would actually make a cute baby card too. I’m always looking for ways to stretch the use of my stamps that I bought for a single purpose. Try looking at your stamps in a different way and see how else you could use them. I would love to see what you come up with. You can tag me on Instagram at @247inkspiration.
