Wrapping up Pirate Week here on the blog, with the perfect card for your favorite pirate.
Pirates work hard pillaging and plundering, bringing home the goods to their wench. It’s nice to show them a little bit of appreciation every now and then. They’d love nothing more than a barrel of supplies and a jar filled with love notes to carry them through their next high seas adventure.
Today’s card is relatively easy to put together. The barrel is the largest oval from the stitched shapes frame lit with both the top and bottom cut off. The Wood Textures paper makes an excellent backdrop for the barrel. You can picture this sitting on the deck of a pirate ship.
This time I used dimensionals to glue down the jar to the card. I cut them down to strips no wider than the black outline on the jar. Yes, they will be really tiny, but they will still hold. I did ink the nonadhesive edges of the dimensionals with my black marker so the white dimensional wouldn’t be so noticeable.
I chose to keep the card fairly simple because pirates tend not to like a huge fuss. Just telling them you love them a lot is usually sufficient.
