What’s New At SU? Color Your Season

August 5, 2018 by Diane 14 Comments

Today I’m joining a group of Demonstrators from around the world to share the brand new Color Your Season Bundle which is available for the month of August only. This will be your only opportunity to purchase the Blended Seasons stamp set and the Stitched Seasons framelits. Stampin Up has also released a second pack of the Watercolor pencils (Assortment 2). We’ve been told the pencils *might* make it into a future catalog. Of course, there are no guarantees though.

Today’s card uses a fun masking technique that anyone can do. I started with just the white card base lining it up on my grid paper. Then I used blue painters tape, which is specifically designed to be tacky and not permanent, and blocked off a strip of the white card stock in the middle. Then I stamped a row of the holly leaves across the top and then filled in the bottom with a second row of holly leaves. I watercolored the leaves while the tape was still on the paper. Once I finished coloring all the leaves and berries, I peeled back the painter’s tape. This creates that nice straight line of stamping and coloring.

My ribbon is lined up with the bottom edge of the stamping. The pattern paper is from the new Under The Mistletoe paper pack. And there you have it, a lovely elegant Christmas card.

I’ll be back to my regular posting schedule on Wednesday. Be sure to check back for a another idea using the Color Your Season bundle.

This next special, Bonus Days, is a great chance to stock up on what you need now, and then get something at a discount in September. For every $50 you spend before August 31 (before shipping and tax), you will earn a $5 Bonus Days coupon code that can be used September 1–30. There is no limit to the amount of $5 Bonus Bucks you can earn and they can all be used at the same time! The Bonus Buck coupons are sent out by email to you once you place your order. Make sure you keep that email in a safe place as Stampin Up does not track those coupon codes.

Our Paper Pumpkin special is still going strong. Subscribe between July 11–August 10 and you’ll get 50% off your first kit. This is for new* month-to-month subscribers only and cannot be applied to prepaid codes. The 50% discount only applies to the new subscriber’s first kit shipped. After that, the price for each month’s kit will return to the regular price of $19.95.

*Wondering if you’re a new subscriber or not? Paper Pumpkin subscriptions are tracked by email addresses, not mailing address. If you’ve been a past subscriber and you’re missing getting the kits, you can take advantage of this opportunity under a different email address than what you previously subscribed under.

Fantastic card design. I love the dimension the masking creates for the holly design and your coloring with the watercolor pencils is amazing. 🙂

Simple enough you could make a stack of them for Christmas Cards! The tiny bow is such a sweet detail. Lovely, as always, Diane.

Great idea with this stamp set. I tended to look at the line of holly and keep it as is, but I love the way it looks like a background stamp almost. Thank you.
