Periodically, people ask me what they should do with Paper Pumpkin kits they don’t like. My suggestion is to use all the pieces to make something you love. I actually loved the November Kit, Gifts Galore, but I really wanted to stretch all the pieces. This is what the Kit directions have you make.
These treat boxes are just the cutest. The directions have you use two of each snowman, tree, and presents – one on each side of the treat box. I thought I could stretch the components by using only one of the snowman, tree, and presents on just one side of the treat box.
This allowed me to use my extra snowman, tree, and present for another project. Just look at this adorable banner I made!
I didn’t have a die big enough to make the bases so I just used my paper trimmer. The rosettes on the sides are handmade as well. To make these, you just cut a long strip and score it every half inch. I used two strips for each rosette. I used a hot glue gun to glue the rosette together. You really need something stronger than regular adhesive to hold it together.
This banner is really simple, but the snowman, tree, and presents really make the banner. I used a few older Stampin Up items on this banner – the white doilies and the super fine glitter. I always feel good when I get an older item out and use it. Makes me feel better about my “stash”.
