We’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early since it falls on the weekend. What do you do to celebrate this Holiday? For years, I would make authentic-ish Irish meals, but nobody cared for them. The recipes I found tend to use a lot of cabbage and my family just wasn’t a fan. So we won’t be having corned beef and cabbage tonight. And I’m trying to do a no-carb thing so green beer is off the menu for me. Oh well, maybe I’ll just have to break out the whiskey. Anyone know if there are carbs in whiskey?
Anyway, on to today’s project. I found an adorable box for a cupcake online that was decorated for St. Patrick’s. I didn’t have all of the same supplies the other Demonstrator had, so I changed it up a bit based on what I did have. And I used one of our mini Pizza boxes that you can get for free right now as a Sale-Abration item.
Isn’t he just the cutest! To make your wee Irish lad, you’ll need the Hello Cupcake stamp set and a handful of punches. Yes, you guessed it. The beard is the frosting from the cupcake glued upside-down to the face. The face and nose are punched out circles. The hat is the new Story Label punch from the Sale-Abration Coordination Release and the hat brim is a couple petals from the Daisy punch. The black band and gold buckle are cut using a paper trimmer. I used my Basic Black Marker to make dots for the eyes.
I love the size of these mini pizza boxes. They are perfect for a little treat or a couple candies. I’m guessing this little leprechaun has gold coins in his treat box. And now, I’ll leave you with this Irish proverb:
May you live as long as you want,
and never want as long as you live.
