One of the stamp sets in the new Sale-abration Catalog is Tasty Trucks. The main image in the set is the food truck and it is adorable! The set comes with lots of things to accessorize it. Everything from tacos to cupcakes to pancakes and more.
One of the samples in the Sale-abration catalog is a little 3-D food truck filled with candy. What a cute idea! I knew I needed to make a truck for some deliveries of my own.
The trucks are stamped and colored using the brand new Watercolor pencils that are now on backorder. The Watercolor pencils were so popular that Stampin Up has exhausted the supply they had on hand. More are coming, but it will probably be a couple weeks before they are orderable again.
So you can see here only the front side of the truck is stamped and colored. The sides and back are cut out using a coordinating piece of card stock. I traced the stamped truck onto a piece of card stock and cut it out for the far side of the truck. The center section is 2″ x 4.25″. It is scored at .25″ on both of the two long sides. Then it is scored at .75″ for the front and 1.25″ for the back side. Then you’ll need to notch the two sides where it folds. Here’s a quick pattern you can copy. The dashed lines are score lines. The solid lines are cut lines.
The “sending love” is glued onto a candy stick and the stick is glued into the back corner of the truck.
I made a whole fleet of these little trucks for my swap for my Downline Meeting this month. Inside the little trucks is a mini jar of Nutella. I tried to find some mini packages of cookies to include in the truck, but everything was too large. And then I realized a spoon is probably just as good. 🙂
Don’t forget Sale-abration is going on right now. For every $50 purchase (pre-tax and shipping), you can pick one free Sale-abration item. What a deal! I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for a good deal which is why I signed up to be a Demonstrator. If you always want to get your craft supplies at a discount, we need to talk.
