Facebook is so handy with those birthday reminders, but it always reminds you the day of the birthday. I wish they’d remind me a week ahead of time so I have time to actually put a card in the mail. Sure, you could go through your calendar every year and write in all those birthdays every single year. But, honestly, that seems like a lot of work year after year.
A perpetual calendar is a way to track special events from year to year. My Perpetual Birthday Calendar solves the problem of having to keep track of these events from year to year. You just need to fill in in once and add to it as needed. You can track birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special events you want to remember. Plus, this version takes up very little desk space at only 8″ x 5″.
Here is what the inside pages look like. I used my computer to make these pages and printed them out on card stock. It has the month across the top and then the numbers going down the page. Just fill in the name on the appropriate line. A great tip is to include the year born so you’ll always know just how old that person is so you can celebrate those milestone birthdays.
I couldn’t leave the back side plain, so I added some sprinkles and popsicles. The popsicles will need to be hand cut out as there is no coordinating die for it.
The stand for my project is very similar to one previously sold at Ikea. Unfortunately, they discontinued them some time ago. I was able to locate similar ones online.
Now the catch with this calendar is that you have to actually use it. Get those names filled in and flip to the next month a few days ahead so you’re already to go. Your friends and family will be so impressed that you remembered their birthday before Facebook reminded you.
