Be sure to read all the way to the bottom for an awesome special this weekend only!
What do you do when your child decides they want to make Valentine’s for their friends at the last minute? You smile and say “no problem” because you know you have your latest Paper Pumpkin kit just waiting to be assembled. And the latest kit just happened to be a pack of 16 Valentine treat holders.
My daughter decided the night before Valentine’s that she was finally ready to sit down and make her treats. As she started pulling the pieces out of the kit, she panicked because she thought they were going to take too long to make. I assured her she would be able to make these in less than an hour. And she did!The treat holders themselves came assembled. All she had to do was add the vellum heart, stamp the tag, and adhere it to the front of the treats. Inside is a pre-cut note card that she stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” and signed her name. Each of the treat holders held one individually wrapped Ghiradelli chocolate square. The front flap is held closed by the bow on the side.
I was very thankful that this kit contained more sophisticated Valentine’s than what you see in the stores. These were perfect for a high schooler to give to both male and female friends. The treat holders came with envelopes too. She opted not to use them as the treats looked so pretty lined up in the basket. Thank goodness I had two of the January kits, which gave her a total of 32 of these treat holders. She actually needed 38, so we made 6 more and made them to resemble the Paper Pumpkin treats as close as we could. I didn’t happen to take picture of those and of course they are all gone now.
If you don’t subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, you really should. January’s kit was a life-saver for me since nothing in the store appealed to my high schooler. I find that so often the cards or treat holders come at just the right time for me. I do try to get my kits made shortly after I receive them so that I have cards ready to go at a moment’s notice.
