There are only six more days for the August to December Catalog. There are some great deals on retiring items that are on sale. This is your last weekend to check out what’s still available. This Catalog ends on January 3rd. Click the Shop button on the right and it will take you directly to my online store, which is open 24-7.
Okay, now for today’s project. On Wednesday I shared a card in blue using the Above It All bundle. Today, I’m sharing a similar version of the card in pink. I can’t decide if I like the blue or pink better, although I’m leaning towards the pink because I love how the snowy drift and pink trees turned out.
Rather than using a pattern paper for the background, I used inks and our small blending brushes. I used a hand-cut piece of card stock to mask an area for a snow drift at the bottom. Then I used Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath, and Moody Mauve to blend the background. I was a bit heavier with the blue and used very little mauve. I left the mask in place when I stamped the trees at the bottom. I love how there is a clear definition between the sky and trees and the white snowy drift.
What do you think of the non-traditional pink colors? Too strange?
I have one more card using this same stamp set. Once I got it out and started using it, the ideas just started flowing. As of last night, this bundle was on sale and still available. I’m glad this is one I nabbed and will definitely use this one again.
