Monday. You either love it or you dread it. There doesn’t really seem to be an in between. Monday can be the dreaded back-to-work day. Or it can be the start of a brand new week, full of opportunity and possibilities. Let’s focus on the possibilities.
Today I have the second Make & Take from this past weekend’s Retreat. One of my favorite sets from the Occasions catalog is the Magical Day stamp set. I am a huge Harry Potter fan and the wizard, dragon, and unicorn are reminiscent of his fictional world. I’ve now used all the characters from the set. My favorite is the unicorn and I love that she can be colored any color, or every color. Details to make this card: The sky pattern paper is cut to 4″ x 3″. The iridescent glitter paper is cut to 1/2″ x 4″. I taped the iridescent glitter strip to the back side of the sky paper. Then I glued the two pieces to the card base. The unicorn is stamped on the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits. Her mane and her tail are colored in rainbow order*. The Bermuda Bay shimmer ribbon is taped to the back of the circle and then the circle is adhered using dimensionals. “Magical” is stamped on the bottom right of the card base.
*Did you know that there is an official rainbow order? I used to think that everyone just sort of copied each other. Nope. There is an actual proper order known as: ROY G BIV. ROY G BIV is the mnemonic for the rainbow order: Red – Orange – Yellow – Green – Blue – Indigo – Violet. Now you know.
Any week that starts of with rainbow unicorns means that it’s going to be a great week full of possibilities, right? Well, this week I have a birthday coming up so that’s pretty fabulous. I can’t think of a better way to share my birthday with you than to have a birthday special next weekend. I’ll post details of that on Wednesday. Be sure you check back to get the scoop.
