A few weeks ago, I promised to share an alternate project for May’s Paper Pumpkin kit. And here it is. Finally.
Today’s project is a 12×12″ piece of artwork that I will put in a shadowbox frame. Most of the elements are adhered using dimensionals. This piece uses three of the card fronts from the May kit. To see what the May kit looked like completed as is, click here.
You might recall that this kit coordinated with the Bird Ballad Suite in the Annual Catalog. I added the pattern paper from the Bird Ballad Suite and several stamps. The blue flowers and the birds on a branch are colored using our alcohol makers, the Stampin Blends. These are then hand cut out. The vertical piece of Crumb Cake card stock is “stamped” using one of our embossing folders. I inked the raised side of the embossing folder and then laid my card stock over the top and pressed down really hard. It didn’t emboss the paper, but it left a faint hint of the script inside. Using a sponge, I added ink around the outside edges of most of the elements.
I have one 12×12″ frame on my wall that I use for these projects. I just replace whatever was in there with the new artwork. This keeps the number of frames to a minimum on my wall and I always have fresh artwork.
