This year’s Holiday Catalog is filled with tons of cute things to make for your treats. I love the mini coffee cups and the variety of tins, but today I’m focusing on the new Little Treat Box dies.
This Little Treats box is tiny. I took it with me to shop for candy at the store. It doesn’t fit larger candy like the mini M&Ms or Skittles bags. It does fit two of the Hershey Nuggets in it side-by-side standing upright. Or the Hershey miniatures or Kisses would fit as well.
The die in this set die cuts the entire box in one cut and has all the notches and score lines built in too. It really is just a cut and assemble box. The way the box folds up, you don’t even really need adhesive to hold it together.
I used some of the Gilded Autumn pattern paper wrapped around the outside of the treat box. As always, when you wrap paper around the box, you want your seam to be on the front of the box. The decoration that you add to the front is going to cover up your seam. And now the back of the box still looks pretty too.
The die set comes with the scallop circle. The leaf is die cut from the Gathered Leaves die. For the two-toned look, I inked the leaf die and then die cut it. This leaves ink on the card stock.
The “happy Fall, y’all” is from the Banner Year stamp set. I used my versamark pad and gold embossing powder to stamp the sentiment. It’s funny, I love the look of heat embossing, but I actually don’t do it very often. I’ll have to get out my heat tool more often.
I love making little treats like to this for friends. It’s just a nice way to say “I’m thinking of you”. I might have to make a few more of these and mail them out!
