I’ll Be Right Here

I’ve been back from Hawaii for two weeks now, but I still feel a bit like I’m on Hawaiian time. Not necessarily their time zone, but moving at the same pace. Hawaiians aren’t in a hurry to get anywhere and they aren’t in a hurry to get things done. Everything gets done in it’s own time. I’m starting to think that’s a great philosophy. No more pressure and stress.

Since my mind is still at the beach, I dug out my Waterfront stamp set and created my own little happy haven on the sand. This is a relatively simple card to make, but the stamping is a little more involved since all the elements are all separate stamps. Since everything is separate, it makes it so much easier to stamp everything in different colors. The most complicated part was the color variation in the ocean. I inked the entire stamp in Seaside Spray, then I added a bit of Blueberry Bushel to the middle section using a sponge, and then a little bit of Night of Navy to the bottom section. This gives the ocean a nice range of colors, just like the real thing. I did the same thing with the sun, I inked the entire sun in Crushed Curry, then sponged on a bit of Mango Melody to add some color variation. It’s too bad this stamp set didn’t include a beach chair with a little umbrella drink. Sigh.
