Our family has always had this thing for penguins. When my son was two, I bought him a small stuffed penguin that he took everywhere. It was his lovey.
He became so attached to it, that we’d have conversations about what would happen if it was lost somewhere, or how to distract him when it had a much-needed bath. I did what any normal mother would do… I bought four more exactly alike so we’d have spare loveys to last a lifetime.
His fondness for his stuffed penguin naturally led to enjoying seeing them for real. We’ve always loved seeing penguins at the aquarium or watching them in documentaries. They are amazing birds.
So naturally when we release a penguin stamp set in the Holiday Catalog this year, I had to have it. This card is very similar to the one in the Catalog. Although I used pattern paper for my background and I’m pretty sure they inked card stock with several different colors to get that beautiful night sky.
The Snowflake Sequins are glued on individually using our fine-tip glue. The font is a little hard to read since I used embossing powder. It says “May your New Year’s dreams come true”. There is no matching die set so I had to hand cut out the penguin.
