Dino-mite!

July 19, 2017 by Diane 2 Comments

Last week on Instagram, I shared my little herd of albino T-Rexs that I’d been working on.And then my little herd sat on my desk for another week until I had a chance to figure out what I wanted to do with them. The more I looked at them all lined up on my desk, I thought it looked like they were all running off to something. But what?

Then I decided that maybe I should color in a few of them and not leave all of them white. So, I started changing them from drab to fab by watercoloring them with Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist. Once that was done, they definitely looked more festive. But they still looked like they were on the way to something…Then it hit me. My fab little T-Rexs were on their way to a party. The best kind of party – a birthday party! Don’t worry though, these T-Rexs have manners. They know better than to show up empty-handed. They are bringing balloons, a gift, and a cake. Because T-Rexs are thoughtful like that. This card requires a fair amount of detailed cutting. The T-Rexs and all the party accessories are hand cut. I kept the background rather simple to keep the focus on my party animals. The ground that they are running across is some of our brand new washi tape. To get the objects into their paws, I cut a slit between their two arms. All of the party accessories came from the Birthday Memories pattern paper. I used a bit of the Fine-Tip glue pen on the back side of the T-Rex’s paw and the back of the balloons to hold the threads in place.

Next time you’re trying to decide who to invite to your birthday event, don’t forget the T-Rexs. They bring the party with them!
