As soon as I saw the Myths & Magic Suite I knew I had to have it. Talk about an awesome group of products and stamp set! I think my favorite character is the chubby unicorn. As a huge Harry Potter fan, I love the wizard too. And that sweet little mermaid? She’s quite the doll.
Today I have two chubby unicorn cards because I just couldn’t decide which one to share. Here is the first – a rainbow unicorn. To make the unicorn a rainbow, I simply colored both the tail and the mane in a rainbow of colors using my Stampin Up markers. It does take a steady head to color in each of the tiny sections since they are so small. The second card has a unicorn with a pink mane and tail. I saw a similar unicorn in pink posted online but I created a different background for my card. Really, you could make your unicorn whatever color you like. To get the ombre look for the pink unicorn, I used my aqua painter with an ink pad. I started at one end of the tail or mane and then just colored all the way across without adding more ink to my aqua painter. Then I added a bit more color on the side I wanted darker.
You can see that I’m still playing around with those cloud dies from the rainbow builder die set. There are two different cloud die shapes in the set, which gives you a variety of different combinations that you can make. I mixed both the big puffy clouds and the smaller clouds together for both of these cards. It did take me a few attempts to figure out the right height of the clouds for this card. If you’re making something like this, I recommend die cutting the entire length of the cloud strip. Then you can play around with how they fit together on your project. I used Dimensionals on the clouds to make the layers more pronounced.
I am just going to go ahead and apologize right now for all the adorable projects I’ve made with this Suite. I’m sure that by the time I am done, you’ll need to add this Suite to your shopping cart. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing more very soon. Remember to check back Friday for a quick and easy unicorn card.
