Cheers!

When I first looked through the Occasions Catalog, the Bubble Over stamp set just didn’t excite me. Who needs coke/beer bottles? Then I started seeing more ideas online using the stamp set. And the more I thought about it, I realized this would be great stamp set for “guy” cards. And that is why I now own it.

Usually when I first start working with a stamp set, I don’t really have a plan. I’ll stamp some of the various pieces and die cut or punch stuff to maybe go with it. As I was playing with this one, I started die-cutting the bottle caps in the Gold Foil paper. And I just couldn’t stop myself. They looked so much like flattened bottle caps. Before I realized it, I had a couple dozen of these things in a pile.

I started playing with them and arranging them on the paper to come up with some kind of pattern and here is what I ended up with. All those bottle caps sure make a great background for my two bottles. Every bottle cap is on a Dimensional so it is raised from the background paper.
And did you notice the labels on the bottle? This is actually a thank you card! I love how the two different sentiments work together and it’s more subtle than most of our cards. To get the 3-D look on the labels, I stamped the sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist first. Then I stamped it a second time in Soft Suede just over the top of the Lemon Lime but offset by a hair. This gives it that pop.

Just in case you’re wondering… that awesome pattern paper is from the Bubbles & Fizz pack, which is in the Sale-abration Catalog. And this means that it’s FREE with a $50 pre-tax and shipping order. Even if you’re not a coke/beer bottle fan, this paper is a lot of fun with the bright colors. It reminds me of summer picnics.

I realize that Summer is still so far away… but maybe a sweet drink will help you forget the cold and snow for a little while. Cheers to warmer days!
