Today, I have an alternate project using the August Paper Pumpkin kit. The flower cards in the August kit are so very pretty that I was tempted to make all of them just like the instructions. But I really like the idea of creating something new out of the kit pieces so you have more ideas to work with if a kit just doesn’t speak to you as is.
A super easy idea is to make the kit into a framable piece of art work. Each month I can make something new to replace the prior month’s art. I need just the one frame and now I have a revolving art show right in my house.
The amazing floral images from the card front needed an amazing background to complement them. I used a piece of the Delightfully Detailed laser cut paper and spray painted it with Blackberry Bliss, Flirty Flamingo, and Lemon Lime Twist to match the card front.
Can you see those amazing metallic colors? In my spritzer, I add 10-12 drops of the Frost White Shimmer Paint, 6 or 7 drops of reinker, and fill the rest with rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake. Then stand about 12 to 18″ from what you’re going to spray and go. I rotated the three colors in no particular order, and just kept adding color where I saw blank spaces. I did try to keep an even balance of the three colors throughout the laser cut paper. That Lemon Lime Twist really pops on the Blackberry background. 
The little flowers are the flower stamp from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I did hand cut them out with scissors and added them around the card front.
I truly hope you can see the potential here on what you can do with a kit if you don’t want to make it as designed. The possibilities are endless!
