Yesterday marks the end of another school year with two Graduations this Spring. With coronavirus and quarantine, we knew Graduation would look a little different with virtual ceremonies this year.
Evan graduated with Honors while working two different jobs. I’m so proud of all the work he put in the last two years. His dedication to his education and his work ethic impress me every day. Here is a picture from his virtual Graduation.
Evan completed his AA degree at Irvine Valley College and will be moving on to Pepperdine University to complete his Bachelor’s Degree this Fall.
Maddie graduated from High School and will be moving on to UCLA in the Fall.
Maddie graduated with High Honors (Top 6% in her class), Top 20 Student, AP Capstone, ASB Graduate, California Scholarship Federation, and Golden State Merit Seal Diploma. What is all that, you ask??? It is hours and hours of homework every single night, while juggling Club soccer, ASB commitments, and working. Plus 13 AP tests over her High School career.
We realized last night that both kids actually have a free summer with no obligations, except work once that starts up again. No Summer classes, no soccer or track camps, no ASB camps or meetings, and no Summer reading or homework. This is the first time in six years that we haven’t had to plan out the Summer like we’re going into battle. It is going to be awesome!
Both are so excited to be moving on to the next phase of their lives. I’m happy and excited for them too. And a little sad that they are both moving out at the same time. I’ve known this day was coming and now it’s just weeks away. My assistant Frannie, tells me not to worry and that she isn’t going anywhere.
In fact, she’s already deep in thought planning out some projects from the new Catalog. Don’t worry, we’ll put our heads together and come up with some fabulous stuff to share very soon. See you next week!
