One of the perks of being a Stampin Up Demonstrator is getting early access to new products. I love that I can order supplies in advance so I can get started playing with new things right away. My number one item from the new Catalog that starts on June 4th is the Magnolia Lane Suite. Yes, the entire Suite. Stampin Up did an incredible job on this Suite making sure everything coordinated beautifully.
Since they arrived a few weeks ago, the Magnolias have not left my desk. I am in love with these Magnolia dies and the incredible flowers they make. I’ve been so busy making flowers, I needed to start using them in projects. Today’s project is a small wreath using three different sizes of the Magnolias. The top flower is just two layers of smaller petals of the flower. The bottom flower is both the smaller petals and the larger petals, two layers of each. However, with the bottom layer, I trimmed one of the large layers apart and glued the petals down separately just a bit wider than the layer above it. This gives it a little more depth. The middle flower is two layers of each the smaller petals and the larger petals. Plus I added in five punches of the Hot Air Balloon punch. Yep, those extra large petals are hot air balloons! Crazy… but it works. The hot air balloons are more tightly layered since they are so much larger than the magnolia petals. Each layer of petals is lightly inked with Daffodil Delight using a sponge dauber. The yellow is just to add a hint of color to the plain petals. I think it makes them look a little more realistic.
I used a few retiring products for the wreath as well. The greenery is the Boxwood Wreath Embellishments which is retiring as of June 3rd. I used four of them to completely encircle the wreath. The Old Olive Linen Thread and the alphabet stamp Labeler Alphabet are both retiring as well on June 3rd. The flag punch is a super old one that I dug out of my stash. This is a punch that I love using for small projects. Both the white and Mossy Meadow flags are punched with this same punch. For the white flags, I trimmed the sides off for layering.
I’m sure once you get a chance to check out this Suite, you will fall in love with these amazing products as well. If you can’t wait until June 4th to order them, then you need to sign up to be a Demonstrator. Now is the perfect time to join my team! Not only will you have access to ordering these items early, but the Holiday Catalog pre-order will start in August. And best of all, you always get a discount on your craft supplies.
