I think last Friday I promised we’d have mermaids this week. Well, the mermaids are a little delayed. You know what an ever-elusive creature they are. I’ll do my best to have them rounded up by next week.
And now for something completely different…
These four cards are a series of 3×3″ love notes that I made for the OnStage Display Boards last November. These love notes use the Heart Happiness stamp set, which is pretty great. I love all the different heart images. I paired this stamp set with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to come up with all the different sayings. I used Brusho to make the backgrounds for all of the love notes. I love that it turns out different every time. It makes every card unique.
When using a background that has Brusho, you do need to allow plenty of time to dry. I made my backgrounds and then sandwiched them between a couple paper towels and then laid a heavy book on top to help keep them flat. I colored the rhinestones with a red Sharpie pen. These samples were made before I had the new Stampin Blends markers. If I were to make similar love notes now, I would use my Stampin Blends. Since the Blends are alcohol ink, the color is permanent on the rhinestones. You do need to be careful with the tips of the markers on rhinestones. The rhinestones have sharp edges and eventually, they will wear down your Blends marker tip.
Are you ready now? You have 14 days to get your Valentine love notes made. And now you have four great ideas for cards you can make. But don’t worry if you don’t get them made in time. Every day is good day to tell someone you love them.
