Happy Friday! Today I want to share a recap of Stampin Up’s recent OnStage event last month. Stampin Up’s Annual Convention has been online the last two years. I think the online event has a lot of pluses, but I really miss the in-person events.
Since OnStage started during the week, my team was watching the event in different locations around Southern California. Lyndi was so kind to open her home to those of us here in Orange County. Her husband is an amazing IT guy and set us up with a large tv and computer hook-up so we could all watch it together. Thanks Geoff! We really appreciated you getting us all set up for the event.
Okay, seriously, this is one of the huge pluses for the online event…. We all get to sit around a table and have plenty of room to spread out, a place for our snacks and drinks, and lots of room to take notes. We get to be comfortable, no long lines for bathrooms, and a couch nearby for quick breaks. This time we had a giant charcuterie spread with both cheeses and meats and veggies and dips. It was so yummy!
Another plus to the online event is getting to see Stampin presentations up close and personal. Plus, Stampin Up gives us a “chat” feature on the platform. You can see a bit of it on the right side here. This is so much fun to see everyone commenting on what’s happening on the screen as it happens. And YES, a lot of the event is actually happening live as we watch it so the Chat is live as well as the event happens. It’s a lot of laughs to see everyone’s comments as they appear. And there are so many comments… in just a few minutes, there can be another 100 comments. So crazy to see them scrolling by so quickly.
Okay, I’m not a person that usually toots my own horn, but I’m pretty excited to share this. This year I earned an Award for Sales. Holy cow! Me! There’s my name in the Annual Achievements Section. I was pretty excited about this. This award is thanks to all the customers that supported me the last year. I would not have earned this without your support. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everything you do for me. The income I earn from my sales go to help pay for my kids college educations, books, and living expenses.
I’ve earned this award the last couple years and every year I’m thrilled that I did it again. It takes a lot of time and work to meet the sales threshold for the award. But honestly, I love sharing crafting with others. My job is so much fun.
People ask me how much time I spend on my business and I’m honest and say this is a job. You definitely get out what you put into it. If you work hard, the business follows. But if that’s not for you, that’s totally okay with Stampin Up and me. Sometimes people just want to shop with a discount. And, that’s exactly how I started out. Seriously, I’m a coupon girl. Then I taught a class and absolutely LOVED sharing what I do with others. I know it sounds corny, but how many people have a job that they absolutely love?
I know I made the online event sound awesome, but I really do miss the in person Events. It was amazing to meet other Stampin Up Demonstrators from around the world and spend time with friends. I’ve met a number of amazing people through Stampin Up! Plus, all the traveling! I love to travel and see new places. I love to travel and see familiar places.
One of my fondest memories is an Event several years ago in Orlando. A lovely lady named Lynda posted that she was wanting to arrive a day early and go to Epcot. I posted that I’d love to join her. We had a blast! And we are still friends to this day even though she couldn’t possibly live any further away from each other (I’m in SoCal, she’s in Maine). It’s things like this that make me so glad I joined Stampin Up years ago.
Okay, sappy post (almost) over. If you love our products, why haven’t you joined my team yet?
Ooh! One more thing… we just had a Clearance Rack Refresh. New items have been added to the clearance rack online. You can shop 24/7 in my online store. Just click on the Shop button on the right.
