On Friday I mentioned that I had a plumbing leak. I was seriously hoping it was a minor repair, but for the amount of water in my kitchen, hallway, and bathroom, I was sort of prepared that this wasn’t going to be a quickie fix. Anyway, the plumber came out Friday and one of his comments was “I’ve never seen anything like this”. Uh-oh. Not a good sign. After four+ hours, he still couldn’t determine exactly where the leak was originating and left for the evening.
So, it’s now Monday morning and we are still dealing with this. The water has been shut off the entire weekend, aside from when we absolutely needed it on. I now have big holes in three different walls. And the leak is still not fixed. Ugh.
After dealing with this for days, it just reaffirmed my belief that the reason I hate camping is that I love indoor plumbing. (And I’m not wild about sleeping on the ground in a tent either, but that’s a separate story.) But you know what? Life moves on, and I just need to keep myself distracted from the crumbling tile, bubbling flooring, and the fact that I can’t wash my hands whenever I feel like it without first running outside to turn the water on. We are now the proud owners of paper plates, paper bowls, plastic silverware, and lysol wipes.
On to today’s project…
Today’s card is a mixed bag of a bunch of different products. I needed a congratulations card for my niece’s engagement party this past weekend and this is what I came up with.
First, let me go on record stating that Stampin Up does an excellent job of giving us tons of ideas for cards and projects. And it is totally acceptable to copy and reuse those ideas. But sometimes you have to come up with something on your own, when you need a card and you might not have the products they suggest. It is okay to mix and match different stamp sets and paper from different suites.
My card today uses the pattern paper from the Best Dressed Suite and the stamps from the Peaceful Poppies Suite. Plus I added in the flowers from the Thoughtful Blooms and coordinating punch from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. The Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and punch are free products that you can earn with a $50 purchase (pre-tax/shipping). The punch is a Level 2 item, which means you need to spend $100 (pre-tax/shipping) to get it free. But if your purchase the Peaceful Poppies Suite, plus some adhesive and card stock to get your total to $150 (pre-tax/shipping), you can earn both the stamp set and punch for free, plus additional Host Rewards on top of it. What a deal!
Anyway, I need to get back to my mess of a plumbing situation. So here’s hoping that Wednesday’s post will have a successful report that we have left the dark ages and have running water once again.
Pray for us.
