Happy Friday! I am looking forward to a lowkey weekend… packing up boxes… lots and lots and lots of boxes. My plumbing saga continues. I now have running water in the kitchen once more. Hooray! I should clarify that the running water is running exactly where it’s supposed to and not all over my floor. But I also have lots and lots of missing drywall and flooring. So now we begin the restoration process, which means the entire first floor of my house, including the garage, needs to be packed up. You never really think about how much stuff you have until you have to cram it into boxes.
As you can guess, I haven’t had a lot of studio time lately. Too many appointments with plumbers, demolition crew, water mitigation specialists, and the restoration contractor. By the time I have the house to myself, my creativity has withered away. I did take some time this week to make up the January Paper Pumpkin kit though. January’s kit was comprised of 20 Valentine’s treat bags and 10 3×3” cards with envelopes.
As always, this kit goes together pretty quickly. It’s times like this when I really appreciate the ease of these kits. I can still make pretty things without having to spend hours trying to figure out what box my stamp pads are in.
I’m a little stressed that my craft room has to be packed up too, but there’s nothing I can do about it. Most of the flooring has been ripped up and the rest of it needs to go as well. All the cabinets have to be emptied and everything into boxes. My friends have been so kind to offer garage and floor space for some of my stuff that I need to keep on hand (rather than stored with no access for several months). I just laugh when I think about the copious notes I’ll need to make about who is storing my punches and who’s got the dies or paper. Sometimes you just have to have faith that things will work out the way they are supposed to.
Anyway… You still have a couple more days to sign up in time to get the February Paper Pumpkin Kit. Deadline to sign up is always the 10th of the month.
