I Volunteer As Tribute

Guess what happens when you’re a professional crafter? You end up “volunteering” to make banners for the Soccer Team awards night. At the banquet planning meeting, I must have been distracted by all the talk about the cake when I raised my hand. Turns out I was volunteering to make the banner for the JV team.

That’s okay, I’m a professional. I got this.

In past years, the banner is made with the intent that the girls will remove their pictures and take them home at the end of the meeting. I decided to make a scrapbook page for each girl so they could easily take home their photos. Here is the page for my daughter, Maddie. Each layout is the same. Just the names, jersey numbers, and photos are different. By using the same layout and sizes of pictures, it all came together rather quickly. And by rather quickly, I mean about 8 hours or so of solid work to do all the die cutting for the names, numbers, and circles and to glue everything down. By having all the pages look the same, it gives a nice cohesiveness to the overall banner. I hope the girls enjoy the photos and reminiscing about their season. They had some wins, some losses, and some ties. Well, that’s another high school soccer season over and done. Don’t be sad though about the end of soccer season. We’ve already moved on to Spring season. 🙂
