I’m still playing with the Tropical Oasis Suite today. Just looking at this paper and stamp set makes me wish I was sitting on a beach somewhere enjoying a nice umbrella drink. I’m looking forward to the day when I can just lay around enjoying the sun and a nice fruity cocktail. Frankly, I could be laying around now since I have no plans to go anywhere, but laying the backyard is just not the same as relaxing on a beach listening to the waves.
Today’s card uses the Tropical Oasis paper as its focal point. I love the bold pattern paper in this Suite, but sometimes it’s hard to work with bold paper like this. A good way to soften the look is to use a layer of vellum on top. This helps tone it down just a bit without completely covering it.
I love that pineapple stamp. It reminds eye of warm, sunny days. I used more of the braided burlap trim here. It really frays so nicely without falling apart completely. I pulled this one apart quite a bit and it almost resembles a basket.
I’ve got a few more projects coming with this same Suite. I’m obviously in need of a getaway! Since that won’t be happening anytime soon, I’ll be sitting here in my yard, thinking about warm sunny days ahead of us. I might even make my own umbrella drink.
May’s Paper Pumpkin kit is going to have the new 2020-22 In Colors in it! You definitely want to get this kit, because you will be among the very first to get your hands on the new upcoming In Colors before they are available for purchase. Eeek! I can’t wait to see what this will look like In Color.
