I just love the thought of snowy Winter mornings. Sitting by a roaring fire, drinking a nice cup of coffee, enjoying the Winter Wonderland outside. Of course, I won’t ever see that unless I go on vacation somewhere. SoCal isn’t exactly a Winter Wonderland of snow. It can get chilly, but snowfall isn’t going to happen where I live.
Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the beauty of snow elsewhere. And I’m a sucker for beautiful snowflakes. Specially snowflakes of the paper variety. Today’s card is another slimline card. I’m really enjoying creating cards in this size. They are little more expensive to create because you get only one card base out of each piece of 8.5 x 11″ card stock. To make one, you’ll need to cut your card stock to 7 x 8.5″. The finished dimensions are 3.5 x 8.5″.
This card has a lot of layers on it. The base is Night of Navy, then a layer of Highland Heather, then the pattern paper, and then a layer of vellum on top. The vellum helps tone down the pattern paper just a bit. I love bold pattern paper, but sometimes it just needs a little softening.
My snowflakes are die cut from Shimmery White card stock so they sparkle in real life. The blue gems are a nice finish to the sparkly snowflakes.
Well, I’m still working on my Christmas cards but hope to have them out in the mail maybe by next weekend. We’ll see how that goes! If you haven’t started on your Holiday cards, you still have time to order your supplies and make them. I would recommend selecting the two-day shipping option at this point so you’re sure to have the supplies in time.
