I Promise It’s Coffee… Maybe

If you’ve been to a Boutique lately, you may have noticed that a really popular item is these small plaques with witty or funny sayings on them. Most of them are painted, but I thought it would be fun to make one with our paper and stamps and dies.

I chose my ever faithful Coffee Cafe set and dies to make my plaque. I have definitely gotten my money’s worth out of this stamp set, that is for sure! Every time I put it away, I just have to get it back out again.The wood plaque came from a local hobby store and it was unfinished. This made gluing the paper down so much easier than if it had been stained or painted. Once I had the paper glued down, I inked the edges of the plaque to give it a bit of color.I’m sure we’ve all had days when we really would have rather had a drink (other than coffee) in our mug. I knew my girlfriends would get a kick out of this saying. Since we don’t have a stamp that actually says “this could be wine”, I printed the words from my computer rather than hand-stamping them. I was making several of these plaques and didn’t want to take the time to hand stamp each letter individually.
